1. Who is offering the gifts

2. Who can enter

An independently owned business must operate in Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Chickasaw or Grundy County, Iowa. An owner or authorized representative aged 18 or older may enter on its behalf. A physical storefront or existing website is not required. The business must be lawfully operating and able to receive the selected service.

Sponsor owners, employees and people helping judge this round, their immediate families and households, and businesses they control are excluded. One entry per business; duplicate messages are combined and do not improve consideration. One award maximum per recipient or commonly controlled group. Existing customers receive no preference.

3. How and when to enter

Submit your business name and contact email using the interest form, email Josh, or call the number above before the deadline. Josh can take a telephone entry without requiring internet access. A short description of what could help is optional; no polished application or essay is required.

You can also nominate a local business. A nomination is a suggestion, not an entry on the business’s behalf. After nominating, invite its owner or authorized representative to enter by the same November 15 deadline. The business needs to enter only once; the number of nominations, shares or supporters does not improve selection. Josh confirms relevant business facts with the owner; nomination stories are not a popularity vote.

The entry period began September 30, 2026 and closes November 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. Receipt by the sponsor determines whether an entry is timely. Keep any acknowledgement. If a form fails, use email or telephone before the same deadline. Earlier expressions of interest remain under consideration; these terms will be supplied directly where contact details are available. New geographic, ownership, conflict or process restrictions will not silently disqualify someone who was eligible under the earlier offer. The sponsor will identify and reconcile any earlier entry or promise before applying these new terms.

Entry is free. No purchase, donation, sales presentation, mailing-list subscription, review, referral, social post or later engagement is required.

4. How recipients are selected

Josh will review each eligible business for each suitable gift using the same criteria: demonstrated need or obstacle (50%), likely practical usefulness (30%), and ability to deliver the work with the business’s available information, access and cooperation (20%). Josh may ask brief follow-up questions to understand the business. Writing skill, the amount spent with the sponsor and willingness to buy later are not criteria.

One business is selected for each gift on November 20. Ties are considered first on need, then usefulness, then a documented comparison of feasibility; no random drawing is used. After selecting a business for a gift it is removed from consideration for the remaining gifts. The number and suitability of entries affect selection; numerical odds cannot be stated in advance.

Josh will seek any needed eligibility, service-fit and work-plan confirmation before final selection. A request for those details is not an award notice. Final recipients will be contacted directly and receive written award entitlement. A reply within seven days is requested for scheduling; silence does not automatically forfeit an awarded gift. If a business voluntarily declines, the next suitable eligible business is considered using the same criteria. Any eligibility dispute or fulfillment problem will be resolved fairly and consistently with applicable law, without using a new payment requirement or an arbitrary forfeiture. If a gift has no eligible, suitable recipient, that result will be disclosed rather than implying all three were awarded; this does not cancel a prior award or commitment.

5. The three service gifts

• Website or redesign — one business. Design, build and launch of a business website, including a phone-friendly layout, the business’s information and a clear way for customers to take the next step. Hosting of the delivered website is free, with no scheduled renewal charge. One year of support starts at launch. The recipient owns the completed website and files and may request a handoff to its own host.
• Online-business audit — one business. Research into the business’s website, Google presence and customer contact or purchase journey, together with a review of relevant paid tools and repetitive tasks shared by the owner. Includes written findings, examples, a prioritized action plan and a personal walkthrough. Implementation of that plan is not included in this gift.
• Twelve months of SEO work — one business. Initial review and plan, hands-on improvements to agreed website content, local search information and technical issues, and progress reviews in plain language. The twelve-month period begins on the agreed kickoff date. Search rankings, traffic, sales, savings and customer numbers are not guaranteed.

Before final selection, Josh will confirm the practical work plan for each potential recipient: included pages or tasks, business inputs, support arrangements, start date and milestones. The final award document records that plan without reducing the gift advertised here. Once accepted, additional paid work is optional and requires a separate agreement; declining it never reduces the award.

The sponsor pays for the work and any costs necessary to provide the agreed gift. A recipient does not have to buy a domain, software subscription or advertising to receive it; if an optional outside product is suggested, a no-purchase path must remain available. Recipients supply accurate business facts, lawful access, materials they have permission to use, and timely approvals. Never email passwords or tax identification numbers through the public form.

Service awards are not cash, transferable credits or cash discounts against a required purchase. No substitution will reduce a recipient’s entitlement. Within 30 days after representing that a business has won, the sponsor will deliver the award or a written document giving unconditional entitlement to it; scheduled work may then continue over the stated service period. Any inability to fulfill will be handled under applicable law, not by demanding payment.

6. Values and taxes

The sponsor’s estimated award values are $1,800 for the website or redesign, $900 for the audit, and $1,200 for twelve months of SEO, totaling $3,900 across three recipients. These are promotional estimates for the described services, not cash awards, promised resale prices or guaranteed tax values. They replace the earlier estimates without reducing the advertised service commitments. The actual value for tax purposes depends on the final award and applicable rules; the advertised amount does not guarantee that no reporting is required.

The sponsor charges nothing for the gift. Recipients are responsible for taxes legally imposed on them, if any. A free award may still be taxable even when no information return is required. The sponsor will provide required tax reporting and may request necessary tax details securely after selection. There is no processing, release or tax payment payable to the sponsor to claim an award.

7. Your information and publicity

4THEWEB LLC uses entry and nomination information to check eligibility, select and contact recipients, provide the gifts, prevent abuse and keep required promotion and tax records. Entering or nominating does not enroll anyone in an unrelated marketing sequence. A nomination records the business name, town, optional public business link, a short reason, and the nominator’s name and email. Please share only public business facts and your own experience, not private or sensitive details about someone else. Josh may reply to the nominator about the suggestion. Submission does not automatically email the nominated business or give permission to publish the story or anyone’s name. Josh may reply about your entry; you can withdraw by contacting him.

The website form uses Cloudflare hosting and anti-abuse protection, Resend for message delivery, and the sponsor’s Google-hosted mailbox. These service providers process information needed to operate the form and email. Do not include sensitive personal, payment or tax information in an entry. The sponsor does not sell entry information or give partner organizations an entrant list.

Entry, nomination and selection records will be kept for at least one year after the promotion ends; award, fulfillment and tax records may be kept longer as required to administer the award, comply with law or resolve a dispute. Access is limited to people and providers who need it for those purposes. Contact Josh to request access, correction or deletion; legally required records may need to be retained.

Receiving a gift does not require a testimonial, photo session, case study, public review or promotional use of a person’s name or likeness. Any optional publicity permission is requested separately. Required disclosures to authorities remain possible.

8. Schedule changes and administration

The sponsor reserves the right to extend or change entry, selection, notification and service schedules, and to modify administrative procedures, when reasonably necessary to administer the promotion fairly. Reasons may include participation levels, scheduling needs, technical problems, suspected fraud or circumstances outside the sponsor’s control. The sponsor may suspend the promotion while resolving a material problem.

Material changes will be dated and posted in these rules and on the giveaway page, with direct notice to affected entrants where contact details are available. Any shorter entry period will be announced with reasonable advance notice. Eligible entries already received remain in consideration. Changes will not introduce a purchase requirement, retroactively disqualify an otherwise eligible entry, reduce the advertised gifts, or withdraw an award already granted. Existing award commitments and applicable legal rights remain in effect.

Knowingly false entries, impersonation and attempts to manipulate the process may be excluded with the reason recorded. No provision removes rights available under applicable law. Questions or concerns can be raised directly with Josh using the contact details above.

This document covers this round only. Any later promotion needs its own dates and terms. A dated outcome notice will state which gifts were awarded, or whether an alternate is still being confirmed, without disclosing private entry details.
